Weekly Winners July 3-9

My overexposed fireworks shot. (Yes, my aperture was set too low)

Got the settings a little better this time (thanks to Mishi’s post!), but the fireworks were launched from three miles away! (oh well)

‘Ready for lift-off’ is a great capture. His toes barely touching the pool side… wonderful.

“Penny” is such a powerful photo. He really is lost in thoughts, you captured it so well!

Thank you! With inflation these days it would actually take more than a penny…

That balloon shot is right on! I used Mishi’s tips for fireworks as well. We were not as close to them as I would have liked but I still managed a few good shots using her advice.

It flew right over us as we were outside. It was pretty close too. You can imagine how excited the kids were.

    Lift off is FABULOUS!

I like the first firework shot.. it looks like lasers shooting through space ;-)

Your first firwork shot might have been overexposed, but, I think it looks awesome :)

I’ve gotten shots of the Vanderbilt balloon before… but from afar. SO all kinds of jealous and impressed with your shot. What a COOL angle to capture it!!

Also, the first one may be an “oops” but I kinda love it. A lot. A good oops.

Thanks! It was travelling pretty quickly and I managed to be at the right place at the right time. That doesn’t usually happen to me…
I have a whole series of “oops” fireworks shots! Too bad I didn’t pay better attention to my histogram since they didn’t look so overexposed in my camera!

Honestly, the “over-exposed” fireworks shot is one of my favorite of all the ones I’ve seen this week, seriously!
